Hi my name is Jim Richards, I live in Savannah, Ga. I started painting when I was a boy, taking art lessons at age 12. I attended Paier school of Art in New Haven, Conn., and then received a BFA in photography from Rochester Institute of Photography in 1971. I have recently taken courses in photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. I have been self-employed for over 30 years. In Connecticut, I owned and operated Exposure, Ltd. – an art gallery, photography and custom framing business. I am very interested in preserving and restoring photographs. I offer digital photo restoration services, specializing in the conservation of antique and damaged photographs. I can restore your photographs by repairing tears and cracks, reconstructing missing image segments, removing blemishes, as well as restoring and balancing color. Other services include restoring stained or faded photos, colorization (bring color to black and white photos) and portrait retouching. I specialize in portrait photography. I enjoy candidly photographing people in their environment while capturing the subtle qualities of light. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my five-year-old grandson Jack (he calls me Baha). I enjoy meditating, yoga, drawing, and riding my bike through historic Savannah. In the past, I have worked with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Saturday mornings, you are likely to find me in the park handing out personal care items to the homeless.
